About Us…
Founded in 2016, the Big Up’ Band is a large jazz orchestra based in Geneva, united by a common passion: bringing jazz to life and sharing it in all its forms. Composed of talented musicians from the French-speaking Swiss scene, the ensemble seeks to popularize this powerful and dynamic style while developing its own distinctive sound within the Swiss musical landscape.
Through a repertoire combining reimagined standards and original compositions, the Big Up’ Band showcases contagious energy, a strong ensemble sound, and a unique musical touch that captivates both jazz enthusiasts and the general public.
Over the years, the orchestra has had the privilege of accompanying renowned artists such as Gunhild Carling and Grégoire Maret, and performing at numerous prestigious festivals: Jazz Contreband, Mégère Savoy Truffe Festival, MilJazz Festival, Auvernier Jazz Festival, Vernier Jazz, Geneva Brass Festival, Rencontres Musicales Jazz de Bernex, Musicologny, and Les Concerts de Jussy.
Driven by a collective spirit and an ever-renewed artistic ambition, the Big Up’ Band has established itself as one of the leading ensembles of French-speaking Swiss jazz, boldly proving that the big band is more alive than ever.
